Madalyn Mentor

Madalyn Mentor is the Artistic Coordinator for Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, where her responsibilities include organizing more than 500 auditions a year; securing housing, transportation, and other living arrangements for over 100 company members during the Festival Season; coordinating multiple artist residencies during the off-season; and managing a travel and housing budget of over $400,000 annually. In addition to these duties, Madalyn serves as the season scheduler, liaising with all Festival Season personnel to create and distribute the daily rehearsal and performance schedule. Before working for Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, she served as a supervisor and box office associate for the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. A classically trained singer in her own right, Madalyn has performed roles such as Micaëla in La Tragedie de Carmen, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, and Frasquita in Carmen. In her free time, Madalyn teaches voice, tutors in music theory and aural skills, and continues to sing with local professional groups such as Union Avenue Opera, Bach Society of Saint Louis, The Missouri Choral Artists, The Choir of St. Michael and St. George, the choir of St. Peter’s Episcopal, and the Sacred Winds Ensemble. Recently, she served as a panelist for the Saint Louis Internship Program (SLIP). Madalyn received an M.M. in Opera Performance from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale and completed her undergraduate degree in 2011 at Berea College in Kentucky.
