Ahou Yasmine is a singer, bookwriter & lyricist, actress, and voice teacher based in Los Angeles. Ahou recently worked as bookwriter and lyricist on the short, original musical Seeing the Light recently performed at The Broadwater in Hollywood and is currently working on a full-length musical about a British-Iranian woman's journey through assimilation in mid-80's London.
Ahou is a crossover singer and soprano and concert soloist in Los Angeles. With a varied performance career, she has been a featured soloist in the Mozart Requiem, Vivaldi’s Magnificat, Schnittke’s Requiem, Mozart’s Soave Il Vento as Fiordiligi, an art song soloist, and musical theater singer. Ahou has also sung with California Philharmonic and San Francisco Lyric Opera. She loves to sing art songs and musical theater classics to jazz standards and baroque pop. She has recorded various cover and original songs, including a cover of Kate Bush's Army Dreamers.
Ahou has also performed in numerous plays. Among many roles she has portrayed are Farida in SEVEN with Contra Costa Civic Theatre, Ziba in Call Me Mehdi, Soledad O'Brien in Compression of a Casualty, Sevgi in The Cry of the Reed with Golden Thread Productions, as well as roles in classical theater, such as Phebe in As You Like It. She is a member of Actor's Equity and Dramatists Guild.
