Kansas City native, Alan Voss was raised listening to Aretha Franklin, B.B. King, and Glady Knight. Alan's musical journey began on drums playing professionally as a teenager. The study of various drummers led Alan to find Buddy Rich, Art Blakey and Elvin Jones amoung others. There was a guitar in the house that eventually became irresistable as a tool for writing. Alan later went on to study Jazz Composition at Berklee College of Music. Alan has played various genres of music through the years but Jazz and Improvization is his focus. Alan's first album entitled Baobab is coming early 2023.
