Biography

Alirna Korieva

Alirna Korieva, Uzbekistan-born violinist, began her musical studies from the age 5. Currently, Alirna is studying at Michigan State University, pursuing her Master’s Degree in Violin Performance and was accepted as the Teaching Assistant for violin Professor Dmitri Berlinsky. She completed her bachelor’s degree at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan.

Her passion for teaching stems from the years of experience teaching children of all ages. She worked as a student instructor at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. She has taught privately for over 10 years. Working in a broad range of environments, she has taught preparatory division of a college in Uzbekistan to various music workshops in Central Asia, Europe and the US including both online and in-person lessons. She feels equally comfortable working with young children and adults at all levels. She maintains high standards of musicianship for her students while teaching them to enjoy and understand music.

After her studies at Musical Lyceum, Alirna has been privileged to be under the tutelage of acclaimed violinists Viktor Shershevskiy, Bakhrom Kurbanov and Vladimir Yudenich. She took part in multiple competitions while living in Uzbekistan, winning 1st Prize in the International competition of young performers (Almaty, Kazakhstan) and Grand Prix in the International Competition of Young Performers (France, Paris).

Following her graduation in 2016 from the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan she participated in several concerts as a member of the “Soloists of Uzbekistan'' chamber orchestra, the Young Symphonic Orchestra of Uzbekistan, and the chamber orchestra called “Turkistan.” Alirna actively co-operates as a violinist with a famous central Asian ensemble, "Omnibus," contributing to joint projects and performances and has earned the position of artistic assistant. In 2016, she was a participant in the International project “Playing together” that included the countries Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Additionally, she has participated in the "Bang on a Can" festival in the United States.
A year later, she was a participant in the Turbulenzen festival for Contemporary Intercultural Music as a violinist (Berlin, Germany). In October 2017, Alirna was part of a production of a drama piece "Fedra" by M. Cvetayeva under the dome of a "Theatre+Music" project in co-operation with Omnibus ensemble and Ilkhom Theatre. The theatrical production was orchestrated by outstanding russian director V. Pankov.During the same year, she was invited, as a violinist, to participate in the 20th Weimarer Frühjahrstage Festival. (Weimar, Germany).

Alirna's diversity in the world of music can be seen recently in numerous projects, as she acted as creative producer and project manager of "The International Composition Workshop Peabody/Omnibus 2020" (The Peabody Institute, Baltimore, MA). Furthermore, she was a collaborative participant in the British Council program, Creative Producers, which aims to promote creative production.
