(She/Her) Anne Burgett, a soprano from Swampscott, Massachusetts, recently graduated with her MM from Boston University, under the tutelage of Penelope Bitzas. She received her BM from Northwestern University in 2023. Anne has performed as Rosalba in Florencia en el Amazonas, Nella in Gianni Schicchi, Zina in Dark Sisters, and more. Anne was a semi finalist in the Camille Coloratura Competition, a semi-finalist in the Classical Singer Competition, and the winner of the Calliope’s Call Art Song Competition.

Biography

Anne Burgett

Anne Burgett, a soprano from Swampscott, Massachusetts, graduated with a Masters degree in Vocal Performance under the tutelage of Professor Penelope Bitzas at Boston University in 2025. She received her Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University in 2023, studying with Nancy Gustafson. With the Boston University Opera Institute, Anne has performed as Rosalba in Daniel Catán’s Florencia en el Amazonas, Nella in Giacomo Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Zina in Nico Muhly’s Dark Sisters, Cathleen in Vaughan William’s Riders to the Sea, Second Esprit in Massenet’s Cendrillon, and Gianetta in Donizetti’s L’elisir D’amore. Previously, Anne has also performed Frasquita in Carmen at Opera in the Ozarks, Clorinda in Rossini’s La Cenerentola with the Varna International Opera Academy, La Contessa in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with the Vienna Summer Music Festival, Barbarina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with the International Summer Opera Festival of Morelia, Lola in Moore’s Gallantry with the Northwestern Opera Theater, and The Sandman in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel with Northwestern Student Opera Theater. Anne was a semi finalist in the Camille Coloratura Competition, a semi-finalist in the Classical Singer Competition, third place winner in the Central Region NATS competition, and the winner of the Calliope’s Call Art Song Competition. In 2024, Anne performed as the soprano soloist in the Mozart Requiem with the BU orchestra and choir, and as the soprano soloist with the Festival Chorus at Old North Church, singing as the soprano soloist in Mendelssohn’s Von Himmelhoch, Dan Forrest’s Requiem for the Living, and more. Anne was an Emerging Artist with Opera in the Ozarks during the summer of 2025, performing in multiple productions as well as concerts and cabarets.
