Kelsey Williams is currently Acting Fourth Horn in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. She also enjoys a busy freelance career in Chicago, performing with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Grant Park Music Festival. Kelsey has also performed in Chicago based groups like Chicago Philharmonic, Festival Opera of Chicago, and Folks Operetta. Williams was a regular member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago from 2017 - 2021. Kelsey has performed with other groups around the country, including the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra of Columbus, and the Richmond Symphony.
Williams also enjoys teaching. She was the horn instructor at Merit School of Music where she taught conservatory classes and ran a successful horn camp in the summer of 2022. Kelsey recently gave a masterclass at Northern Illinois University for the horn studio. She really enjoys giving private horn lessons in person and over zoom.
Her favorite musical memory would be the first time she played with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on Mahler 3 in 2019. Contributing to, and being surrounded by the sounds of that orchestra on Mahler 3, of all pieces, will hold a special place in her heart.
