Kendra Kae
An Idaho native, Soprano Kendra Kae is applauded for her stunning sound and intuitive musicality. She recently performed with Opera Elect for their 2019 new music series where she was featured as a soloist performing Carle Wirshba’s art song On My Own. This summer, she performed in Italy at the famed Narnia Festival. As part of the festival's sacred program, she performed Mascagni’s Ave Maria and Pergolesi’s Salve Regina among other performances.

Biography

Kendra Kae

For the 2019-2020 season, Kendra will be covering Poussette for Opera Idaho’s production of Manon and will continue on with Opera Idaho as a member of the intimate chorus of Acis and Galatea. In September, she will be premiering the opera Parainphernalia by Taja and Anna Astar as well as the art songs When I Heard the Learned Astronomer by Nathan Scalise and Seven Kierkegaard Songs by Eric Delgado. During the 2018-2019 season, Ms. Kae sang in the chorus of both Don Giovanni and Aida with Opera Idaho. She also graced many bars and recital halls through Opera Idaho and the Treasure Valley Opera Collective, where her performances ranged to include Pirate Jenny and Barbara Song from Three Penny Opera, select excerpts from Mélodies passagères and The Desire for Hermitage by Samuel Barber, Nacht und Träume by Franz Schubert, Couplets de regrets from Orphée aux Enfers, and O mio babbino caro from Gianni Schicchi. She was also a soloist for Critical Mass’s production of Considering Matthew Shepard. Kendra is actively involved in bringing opera to people in whatever way she can, including singing in nursing homes and bars. Her past roles include Papagena in The Magic Flute and Miss Pinkerton in The Old Maid and the Thief. She has also sung as a soloist for The Messiah. Kendra completed her degree in Music Education magna cum laude from Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2009. Having taught music for nearly ten years, she is shifting her focus to performance and is excited for wherever it may take her.
