Megan Smythe is a pianist and music director from Long Island, New York. She is a graduate of Ithaca College where she studied piano performance and music education. Megan has music directed shows such as You're a Good Man Charlie Brown and The Drowsy Chaperone, and has played in numerous pit orchestras for shows such as Pippin, Mamma Mia, and Sweeney Todd. Megan also has experience in classical music working as a collaborative pianist. She has performed in masterclasses with notable artists such as Kenneth Griffiths, Graham Johnson, and Kathy Kelly. During her time at Ithaca college, she collaborated with numerous instrumentalists and vocalists in multiple genres including classical, jazz, and musical theatre. Her work as a collaborative pianist includes accompanying instrumentalists and vocalists for their recitals, attending lessons with her collaborators, and participating in numerous high level ensembles at Ithaca College.
