He performed Gremin at Komische Oper, Berlin, Fafner in Rheingold and performs Fafner in Rheingold and Siegfried at Frankfurt Opera as well as Police Chief in Lady Macbeth from Mtsensk with English National Opera.

Biography

Per Bach Nissen

The Danish bass Per Bach Nissen joins the ensemble at Hannover State Opera in September 2012. The first season will include Gremin in Eugene Onegin, Pogner in Meistersinger, Boris and Lady Macbeth from Mtsensk and Gran Inquisitore, Don Carlos. In February he made his U.S. debut at The Opera Company of Philadelphia as Osmin. 2010/11 he performed Dr. Bartolo at The Concertgebouw with Opera Zuid as well as Osmin with The Teatro Comunale di Treviso and with The Stuttgart Philharmonics. From 2007 to 2010 he was a principal artist at Theater Augsburg where he established his repertoire including Rocco, Raimondo, Sarastro, Basilio, Gran Inquisitore, Osmin, Goldhändler, Pluto and Van Bett. The first principal engagements took him to Das Mecklenburgische Staatstheater and the Schlossfestspiele, Schwerin where he sang Sarastro, Colline, Seneca, Don Alfonso, Commendattore, Hagen Götterdämmerung, and Ferrando Trovatore. At present Per studies with Robert Lloyd and has worked on stage with Paul Curran, Willy Decker, Robert Driver, Axel Köhler, Tatjana Gürbaca and Peer Boysen. Studies took him to The Opera Studio “La Monnait” in Brussels having obtained Diplomas from The Royal Welsh College of Music as well as Trinity College of Music in London with scholarships. His debut as Zuniga in Carmen was at The Linbury Studio, Royal Opera House Covent Garden. In 2011-12 he performed Eremit and Lothario (Mignon) at Schleswig Holsteinisches Landestheater.
