I am currently studying at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities School of Music, working towards a B.M. in viola performance. At the University of Minnesota, I study with renowned viola teacher and performer Korey Konkol who has received multiple awards for his exemplary teaching. Before enrolling at the University of Minnesota, I performed in many youth orchestras, including the MMEA All-State Orchestra, SEC Honors Orchestra, and the University of Minnesota Symphony Orchestra. I’ve also played assistant principal violist for the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony conducted by Mark Russell Smith and principal violist for the Concordia Honors Orchestra conducted by Dr. Kevin Sütterlin.
Playing viola has taken me just about everywhere in Minnesota and recently has brought me internationally to Italy. In the Summer of 2021, I was invited to participate in the Pienza Music Festival hosted by renowned violin teacher Sally O’Reilly. There, I worked with multiple teachers including the professor of violin at Texas Tech University, John Gilbert, and the former concertmaster of Teatro Alla Scala, Daniel Pascoletti.
Music has always been a huge part of my life and a great passion of mine. Although I love to perform and play for people, I enjoy playing with other musicians, hearing others play, and discussing music just as much. Working with other musicians and making connections will always be one of my favorite things about going into music.
