Centre Symphony Orchestra is one of New York City's longest-standing community orchestras. During its long history the orchestra has welcomed such distinguished soloists as Gil Shaham, Sharah Chang, Fred Sherry, and Marc-Andre Hamelin. Featured conductors have included José Alejandro Guzmán (Music Director 2010-21) and Scott Jackson Wiley (Music Director, 2021-present).
The orchestra is comprised of professional and amateur musicians from throughout the region who share a love of music-making on a high level. Based at Broadway Presbyterian Church on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, the orchestra rehearses weekly and presents three concerts each year to sold-out audiences.
Centre Symphony’s guiding mission is to perform familiar and rarely performed works in the orchestral repertoire, collaborate with established and emerging soloists, and share great music with others.
