Ashlyn Rock is a soprano classical vocalist. She was born in Boulder, Colorado, and moved at a young age to California and across the country to the East Coast where she is currently based in the D.C. metro area. 

Ashlyn has performed internationally, including Italy, Iceland, and Germany. She performed at Carnegie Hall in choirs with John Rutter (2015) and in 2019 where she covered the soprano solo to Dan Forrest's Requiem for the Living. She made her Carnegie Hall solo debut with the Gerda Lissner Foundation Concert in April of this year.
Her awards and honors include: Judges' Special Prize (Sponsored By Michele T. Classe), Gerda Lissner Lieder/Song Vocal Competition (2025); Judges Special Award and Finalist, Partners for the Arts Competition (2023); First Prize, DC Chapter, Dorothy Lincoln-Smith Vocal Awards, National Society of Arts and Letters (2023); 3rd place Washington, DC Chapter, Dorothy Lincoln-Smith Vocal Awards, NSAL (2020); 3rd place Sue Goetz Ross Friday Morning Music Club Competition (spring 2019). 

Roles and Operas include Celia (Iolanthe), The Dew Fairy (Hansel and Gretel), chorus in G.C. Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors, Emmie (Albert Herring), Dido in Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Marie Celeste/Duchess Christina in Philip Glass’ Galileo Galilei, Sister Constance de St. Denis (Dialogues des Carmélites), Miss Lightfoot (Fellow Travelers). She has covered and role studied La Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro), Monica (The Medium), and High Priestess (Aida). Ashlyn performed in Cincinnati Opera's Aida, Micaëla (Carmen) with Bel Cantanti Opera, Juliette in Roméo et Juliette (Gounod), Shakespeare Opera Theatre, Wolf Trap Opera's La bohème and Carmen at the Filene Center, and with Washington Concert Opera's 2024-2025 Season. She also performs concert and recital works, including with Trinity Chamber Orchestra, and John Mackey's Songs from the End of the World for soprano and wind symphony, where she coached with Mackey during his artist residency in Cincinnati.

Ashlyn graduated summa cum laude with her Masters at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she studied with William McGraw and Thomas Baresel. She completed her Artist Diploma at CCM with Amy Johnson. Ashlyn has also studied with Ruth Falcon, Danielle Talamantes, and John Aler. She currently studies with Elizabeth Daniels. 

With years of experience, Ashlyn teaches private and group voice lessons. When she is not studying music, Ashlyn spends time caring for her adorable pet rabbit, Reginald. She also enjoys practicing yoga, hiking and camping, biking, writing poems, reading, and working on publishing her own book.
