Biography

Beth Holub

Beth has worked with Cat Power and the Memphis Rhythm Band, recorded with Los Angeles/London record producer Ed Buller of the Psychedelic Furs, and records for established groups in Arizona, Massachusetts, and New York at studios such as WaveLab, Waterworks, Q-Division, and Avatar. As a member of the band Eksi Ekso, she played official shows at SXSW in Austin, TX in 2009 and 2011, and wrote the string quartet parts and performed viola on their 2011 release Brown Shark, Red Lion. She can be heard and seen on Caspian’s EP The Greatest Generation and Live at the Larcom. Beth has also recorded viola and violin on various albums by Matthew Connor. She has performed with the Bangor Symphony (ME), Guerilla Opera (MA), Juventas New Music Ensemble (MA), Boston Opera Collaborative (MA), MetroWest Opera (MA), the String Orchestra of Brooklyn (NY), Greenwich Village Orchestra (NY), the Contemporary Music Ensemble at CUNY, Garden State Philharmonic (NJ), The Chelsea Symphony (NY), New Camerata Opera (NY), and Composers Concordance (NY), as well as with other orchestras, opera companies, and chamber music ensembles. Beth has toured the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and China with various ensembles. Her festival credits include Brevard Music Center (NC), Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Ameropa Chamber Music Festival in Prague, Czech Republic, and the Pierre Monteux School (ME). Principal viola teachers include Margot Parlette, Yvonne Creanga, Hong Mei-Xiao, Molly Gebrian, and Paula Majerfeld. She is also an active marketing and promotions professional in the NYC area; currently, Partner/Tea Artisan at Black Tea Music, a boutique music promotion, publishing, and management representative for composers and new music-inclined artists, runs Repeat Media, her own graphic design and marketing consultancy agency, is an adjunct professor at New Jersey City University teaching music business, and gives lectures and seminars on the business of music. Beth was honored by Direct Marketing News as a 40 under 40 professional to watch and attended both the League of American Orchestras Essentials of Orchestra Management arts marketing intensive training program (2011) and National Arts Strategies Senior Management Leadership Seminar (2016-2017). Beth has a BA in Viola and Art History from the University of Arizona and an MBA in Marketing and Management from Fordham University, Gabelli School of Business.
