(He/Him) Baritone, Brandan Sanchez has quickly built a dynamic and visible portfolio career having performed some of the most beloved operas, oratorios, and art song cycles popular with today’s audiences. 

Role credits include: Samuel (Pirates), Sergeant (Pirates) Belcore (L'elisir), Schaunard (Boheme), Gianni Schicchi. Celebrant (Bernstein's Mass). Recipient of the 2022 Mu Phi Epsilon Foundation Liana K. Sandin Voice Scholarship.

Biography

Brandan Sanchez

Brandan Sanchez has quickly built a dynamic and visible portfolio career having performed some of the most beloved operas, oratorios, and art song cycles popular with today’s audiences. A frequent operatic lead, Brandan’s repertoire includes Belcore (L'elisire d'amore), Schaunard (La Bohéme) and the title role in Gianni Schicchi. He has performed both Sergeant of Police and Samuel in G&S's beloved  The Pirates of Penzance. Productions with IU Opera Theater include the collegiate premiere of The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs, Dialogues of the Carmelites and The Three Hermits. He has sung the role of The Celebrant in productions of Bernstein’s Mass with IU and San José State University (SJSU). He was featured as a soloist in the Fauré Requiem and Brahms Requiem. International performances include appearing as a soloist in the Haydn Lord Nelson Mass with the Ireland Limerick Sinfonia in 2017 and in a series of concerts with the Cairo Festival Symphony in Egypt. Other notable performances include soloist in Vaughan William’s Serenade to Music with the Symphony Silicon Valley and as the baritone soloist for Orff’s Carmina Burana and the Mozart Vespers. He has been featured with Indiana's Lafayette Master Chorale as a soloist in their Messiah. Brandan has participated as a young artists with Cedar Rapids Opera, as a Mary Ragland Emerging Artists with Nashville Opera, and will be a Baumgartner Atudio Artist with Florenitne Opera. Brandan enjoys developing a well-rounded repertoire in various styles including jazz and musical theater. He is also an avid recitalist and embraces the meaningful addition of art song literature. Brandan holds a Master of Music in Voice Performance and a Performance Diploma in Solo Voice Performance from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. Born and raised in the Bay Area, he holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from San José State University. He is a recipient of Mu Phi Epsilon Foundation’s Liana K. Sandin Voice Scholarship.
