Baritone Juan Suarez is an active opera and ensemble singer in the Boston area, performing frequently with organizations such as Nightingale Vocal Ensembe, Carduus, Capella Clausura, Odyssey Opera, MassOpera, Opera Del West, Boston Opera & Zarzuela, and the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras.
Most notably, he has been featured on a series of world premieres with local organizations such as Catalyst New Music and Opera Del West, and with Sparks & Wiry Cries’ SongSlam Competition in NYC . Other notable engagements include recent performances with the Brockton Symphony Orchestra as Escamillo in Georges Bizet’s timeless classic opera, Carmen, and performing in the chorus of Boston Modern Opera Project’s Grammy nominated recording of The Lord of Cries, by composers John Corigliano and Mark Adamo.
In September, Juan will present Justicia y Paz, a a program of latin-american classical and folk music for which he wrote music arrangements, co-produced, and will perform in collaboration with Nightingale Vocal Ensemble.
Juan holds Music Degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music and Stetson University.
