Biography

Mallory Edgell

Mallory Edgell is a costume designer and maker originally from western NY. She is dedicated to telling stories through her work that resonates with audiences where they are. She works with an emphasis on research, open communication, and community involvement. By being detail oriented and collaborative throughout the design process, she hopes that her work can inspire conversations and connections within local communities.

As a senior BFA candidate in Theatre Design & Production at the University of Michigan, Mallory has had the joy of exploring all elements of the costuming field. After serving as Costume Designer, Assistant Costume Designer, and Wardrobe Head on numerous productions, she has built a broad knowledge base of costuming and is excited for the future as she starts her career after her April 2023 graduation.

Mallory has always had a passion for both the arts and for making positive change in communities.  She has painted public murals, started voter registration drives, and has now made it her mission to utilize her skill in the theatrical arts to address social justice issues.

Further, she is working towards developing her graphic design and marketing skills through self study and groups on campus.  In her free time she loves to bake cupcakes, bullet journal, and learn new crafting hobbies (embroidery, knitting, friendship bracelet making) only to lose track of her projects later.
