Megan Graves is a mezzo-soprano from Fort Worth, Texas who is currently based out of Oslo, Norway where she works as a full-time singer at Den Norske Opera & Ballet. Graves holds degrees in Vocal Performance from Eastman School of Music (BM) in addition to an MM from the University of Cincinnati’s CCM. As a part of Den Norske Opera’s 2023-2024 season, Graves will perform the role of Curra (La Forza del Destino) and also cover the roles of Mère Jeanne (Dialogues des Carmélites) and Tisbe (La Cenerentola). In their most recent season Graves performed the role of Erste Magd in Elektra and covered Emily in the world premiere of The Listeners by Missy Mazzoli. A consummate musician and passionate lover of contemporary music, Graves created the role of Rumer in the world premiere of Fierce by William Menefield a part of Cincinnati Opera’s 2022 season. Graves also sang the roles of Nelly, Julien and Heather in Cincinnati Opera’s workshop production of Kevin Puts’ opera The Hours for The Metropolitan Opera. Earlier thaMt season Graves was a resident artist at Palm Beach Opera where she performed the role of Second Witch in their production of Dido and Aeneas, covered Sorceress (Dido and Aeneas) and sang as a soloist in concerts throughout the season. Graves is also a District Winner of the Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont Competition.
