Biography

I am passionate about making music that makes a difference. My collaborative experiences include membership in the Royal Family Music Group Collective in Minneapolis, performances as a 2023 Artist-in-Residence with Keepsake House in New York City, and workshops as a participant of the 2022 Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project. I am currently majoring in Musicology at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois to study the ways in which Black artists engender social change, restoration, and transformation through music.

Moyana Olivia

Moyana Olivia (www.moyanamusic.com) is passionate about making music that makes a difference. Olivia is a member of the Royal Family Music Group Collective in Minneapolis, a 2023 Artist-in-Residence with Keepsake House in New York City, a GrammyU Member of the Chicago Chapter, and an alum of the 2022 Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project. Olivia is currently majoring in Musicology at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois to study the ways in which Black artists engender social change, restoration, and transformation through music. 

Olivia’s work has been commissioned by the Edina High School Choir Department and featured by Billboard Magazine, the Best Buy Corporation, The View, the National Women’s March Movement, the ACLU, Northwestern University’s Office of Undergraduate Research, KMOJ radio, Rooted Society LLC, and many film festivals across the United States.
