Biography

Natalie Koh

Natalie Koh, a Singaporean violinist, is currently based in Chicago and is completing her Masters of Music at DePaul School of Music with renowned pedagogue Dr Ann Setzer. Natalie graduated with a Bachelor of Music with Honours (Highest Distinction) in Violin Performance from Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (Singapore) and was the recipient of the Goh Soon Tioe Centenary Award and the National University of Singapore Society Medal for Outstanding Achievement. In the United States, she has performed with orchestral groups such as the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, National Repertory Orchestra, Illinois Symphony Orchestra and the Oistrakh Symphony of Chicago. She is also a substitute violinist of the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida.

 

Natalie is also passionate about music education and is completing her Online Graduate Certificate in Music Education for Special Needs Students from the University of Arkansas. She has been teaching the violin since she was 17 years old and has taught students from as young as 5 years old to adult learners. She was a part-time violin teacher at Forte Musicademy (Singapore) and is a private instructor now in Chicago. She is also a substitute violin teacher and youth orchestra coach for the DePaul School of Music Community Music Division.
