Biography

Olivia Capozzi

Originally hailing from Binghamton, New York, soprano Olivia Capozzi is a recent graduate of Manhattan School of Music equally at home in opera, art song, and contemporary works. In August 2025, she will join the Berkshire Opera Festival chorus for their 10th Anniversary Concert.

While studying at Manhattan School of Music, Olivia was an avid performer of 20th and 21st century works, performing as Milica in Ana Sokoloviç’s a capella opera Svadba (March/April 2023), Ann Putnam in a concert performance of Act III of The Crucible (February 2025), soprano soloist in Ned Rorem’s Evidence of Things Not Seen (October 2023), and as Harlekin in scenes from Der Kaiser von Atlantis (October 2022). She was also heard as Noémie in MSM’s concert staging of Cendrillon, and as Pamina and First Lady in scenes from Die Zauberflöte.

Other operatic credits include the title role in Ruggero Leoncavallo’s rarely performed opera Zazà, and Mrs. Gobineau in The Medium with the Crane Opera Ensemble at The Crane School of Music. Alongside her vocal studies at Crane, Olivia also majored in history and continues to nurture her spirit of curiosity, most recently in an independent study lecture-recital project at MSM on the 18th century French Grand Opera repertoire (December 2024).

A keen lover of both opera and art song, Olivia is excited about the creation and performance of new works in addition to diving deeper into the celebrated canon. She has joined Source Song Festival (Minneapolis, MN) for their 9th, 10th, and 11th seasons as one of eight singer and pianist duos from around North America, premiering new art songs by composers-in-residence and celebrating the magic of collaboration.

Olivia is a graduate of Manhattan School of Music’s prestigious Pre-College program, and received her Bachelor of Music from The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. She completed her Master of Music and Professional Studies diploma from Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Ruth Golden.
