Biography

Sadie Margolis

Hi, I’m Sadie! I’m originally from Hartford, CT, and now based in New York City. This spring, I graduated summa cum laude from Elon University with a B.A. in Music Performance (Voice) and minors in Communications and Dance. This fall, I’m beginning my Master of Music in Vocal Arts at Manhattan School of Music.

My passion for performing began on my 10th birthday, when I was handed an Elphaba hat, a ticket to Wicked, and a front-row seat to a life-changing night of theatre. I remember thinking I could defy gravity, although I identify more as a Glinda. Since then, I’ve performed in regional theatre, opera choruses, and cabaret stages, with credits including Fiddler on the Roof, Mystic Pizza, and Oklahoma! at the Barn Theatre, and multiple productions with Barrington Stage Company. I’ve also sung with the Compagnia d’Opera Italiana di Firenze in Italy and performed in La Traviata under conductor Cristiano Manzoni.

Beyond performing, I’m a music director, arranger, educator, and choreographer. This past year, I assistant music directed Legally Blonde and music directed A Year with Frog and Toad at Elon University. Most recently, I choreographed Seussical KIDS at Hartford Stage. I’ve been honored to serve as the soloist for Elon’s Commencement ceremonies, performing the National Anthem and Alma Mater, and to sing at the Baccalaureate Service. As music director for Elon’s all-female a cappella group, the Shirley Tempos, I arranged music, led rehearsals, and prepared the ensemble for high-profile performances.

My enthusiasm for learning was reflected in my academic pursuits at Elon, and I am thrilled to have served as a music theory tutor and Vocal Scholars Peer Educator, sharing my kindness, patience, and determination to help students excel. In recognition of my academic achievements, I was honored with the Effie Mae Wicker Johnston Scholarship at Elon University. In addition to my work on stage, I’m a writer with experience spanning fashion journalism, feature writing, and media content creation.

When I’m not performing, writing, or teaching, you’ll find me baking, at hot yoga, visiting my family and my dog Topanga, or exploring NYC’s best coffee shops — always dressed for the occasion, latte in hand.

Xoxo, Sadie
