Sam Wetzel is a percussionist and music educator working in Las Vegas, Nevada. He currently holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Kutztown Univeristy, and a Master of Music Degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Sam is continuing at UNLV to pursue a Doctor of the Musical Arts Degree in percussion performance. During his time in higher education, he has recieved both the Green Family Mallet Percussion Scholarship and the David Baker Music Scholarship. Sam is currently the Coordinator of Percussion at Rancho Highschool and has worked with the students and staff to win mulitple marching, indoor, and concert band competitions. He also teaches his own private lessons studio and has served as a music judge and clinician in the Clark County School District. Sam has a deep love of music and encourages his students to find passion in their work. In his extra time, Sam freelances as a percussionist and has worked at many locations on the Las Vegas strip, including the Bellagio, MGM, the Wynn, and Mandalay Bay.
