Biography

Timothy Cook

Timothy Cook is a graduate conducting assistant at Northwestern University where he is a student of Dr. Mallory Thompson.

Prior to pursuing his graduate studies, Timothy served as Director of Bands and chair of the Visual and Performing Arts department at Charlotte Catholic High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. During this time, he developed the program’s first Band Leadership Academy, an Artist-in-Residence program, and led the band on two performance tours of Ireland. His students consistently placed in the North Carolina All-State band and have gone to study at the University of Michigan, Notre Dame, New York University, and Yale. 

Outside the classroom, Timothy was involved in the capital campaign which raised over $18 million for the new Charlotte Catholic Fine Arts Center. He received faculty awards for outstanding community service and excellence in education. 

Timothy received a bachelor of music degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He holds memberships in the College Band Directors National Association, National Band Association, National Association for Music Education, and the North Carolina Bandmasters Association.
