(He/Him) Christopher Staub recently returned to Houston Grand Opera in the newly created position Operations Manager. Previously Chris was the Director of Production and Artistic Operations at On Site Opera in NY from 2019-2021. Prior to OSO, Chris was the Production Stage Manager at The Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, NY, calling performances and supervising the stage management staff as well as the young artist stage directors.

Biography

Christopher Staub

Director of Production and Artistic Operations Christopher Staub (he/him) joined the On Site Opera team in 2019 with more than fourteen years’ experience in opera production. Prior to OSO, Chris was the Production Stage Manager at The Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, NY, calling performances and supervising the stage management staff as well as the young artist stage directors. He managed Glimmerglass’s recent world premiere of Blue by Jeanine Tesori and Tazewell Thompson in addition to frequently collaborating with Francesca Zambello, General and Artistic Director of the festival. Chris moved to New York City from Texas where he was a stage manager at the Houston Grand Opera for over a decade. Some of his notable HGO credits include all four operas in Wagner’s Ring Cycle, the premiere of Heggie & Scheer’s opera It’s a Wonderful Life, West Side Story, and all of the Mozart/Da Ponte operas. Chris graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Drama and Speech Communication from Ithaca College, NY.
