Soprano Ryan Colbert has been praised for “rendering text with a touching tenderness” (Berkshire Fine Arts) and making "a feast of quirky dramatic contrasts...while smoothing it with a velvety vocal line” (ArtsKnoxville). This season, she will sing Rosie in the world premiere of Frank Pesci’s Royal Flush with Marble City Opera, Magda Sorel (The Consul) with University of Delaware Opera Theatre, and direct a film adaptation of Poulenc’s La void humaine. Recent engagements include Nella (Gianni Schicchi) with Moon River Opera, Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) with Spooky Goose Opera, Alice Ford (Falstaff) with the International Summer Opera Festival of Morelia, Contessa Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) with the University of Delaware Opera Theatre, and Suor Dolcina (Suor Angelica) with Marble City Opera. Other credits include Lady with a Cake Box (Postcard from Morocco) with Marble City Opera; Mrs. Webster in the world premiere of Griffin Candey’s Sweets by Kate at the Midwest Institute of Opera, and later reprised the role with Marble City Opera and OperaRox Productions; Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) with the Oak Ridge Philharmonia; and Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte) with the University of Tennessee Opera Theatre. She holds a MM in Vocal Performance from the University of Delaware and a BM in Vocal Performance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
