She has accepted a contract with Kentucky Opera for their 2020-2021 season where she would have performed roles in Puccini’s La bohème (Musetta), Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel (Sandman), and Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice (Euridice).

Flora Hawk

Noted for her “richly balanced voice” (OperaWire) and “passionate” portrayals (Opera News), Soprano Flora Wall has been quickly making a name for herself. Flora recently was a 2020 District Winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Competition. She has accepted a contract with Kentucky Opera for their 2020-2021 season where she would have performed roles in Puccini’s La bohème (Musetta), Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel (Sandman), and Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice (Euridice). As well as, a contract with Pensacola Opera performing in their H.M.S. Pinafore (Josephine). Flora accepted a contract as a returning artist with Opera Saratoga for their 2020 summer program where she will perform the role in Beecher and Moscovitch’s Sky on Swings (Winnie), and Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance (Mabel). Prior to this, she enthusiastically accepted a contract as a returning artist with Shreveport Opera for their 2019-2020 season where she performed the lead soprano role in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro (Susanna) and performed in Leigh's Man of La Mancha (Antonia). Her first contract working with Shreveport Opera was for their 2018-2019 season where she performed roles in Bernstein’s West Side Story (Maria) and Puccini’s Madama Butterfly (Kate Pinkerton). Also during this time, she was invited to perform at the 2018 Fort Worth Opera Gala, and accepted a contract with Opera Saratoga where she performed the role in Humperdinck's Hansel und Gretel (The Mother) in their 2019 season. Flora was a winner of the 2019 Mary Jacobs Smith Singer of the Year Competition.
