Handong Fu, baritone, holds a Professional Studies Diploma from the Mannes School of Music in New York City, a Master’s degree from the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, and is a member of the Talent Cultivation Program at the Wuhan Conservatory of Music. He is studying with Professor Arthur Levy.
Fu has performed leading roles in numerous operas both in China and abroad, including Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Count Almaviva and Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro, Marcello in La Bohème, Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte, Simone in Gianni Schicchi, Sprecher in Die Zaubeflöte.
His major awards include Third Prize at the Han-China International Vocal Competition, the Gold Award in the China Division of the German Philharmonic Competition, Third Prize in the “College Cup” Vocal Competition at Wuhan Conservatory of Music, and Third Prize in the 5th “Yangtze River Piano Cup” Youth Music Competition.
