Biography

Addison Ballew

Soprano Addison Ballew, from Upstate South Carolina, is a Master of Music student at Jacobs School of Music studying voice under Dr. Brian Horne. Addison completed her undergraduate studies at Furman University in 2022, earning a degree in vocal performance. She was last seen as Norina (Don Pasquale) and Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro) with IU Opera Workshop, and last spring, she premiered the roles of Hélène and Fanchette with Unsung Opera. Other credits include Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and Little Red Riding Hood (Into the Woods), as well as the choruses of Dido and Aeneas and Sasha Janes’ The Nutcracker. Addison is a NATS Regional Qualifier in the divisions of Musical Theatre and Classical Voice, receiving honors in both categories. Addison has been a finalist in the William E. Schmidt Youth Competition and the Classical Singer Competition, where she was a Top Ten Finalist in the Musical Theatre Pre-Professional Division in 2020.
