A winner of the Young Artist Division in the 2019 Opera MODO Aria Competition, second place winner of the 2018 Lois Alba Aria Competition, and semi-finalist of the 2019 Orpheus Vocal Competition, Adrian Sanchez is quickly making his mark across the United States. He has recently performed with Winter Opera Saint Louis, Des Moines Metro Opera, Opéra Louisiane, Kentucky Opera, Sarasota Opera, Indianapolis Opera, and Charlottesville Opera.
ADRIAN SANCHEZ, baritone, is a breakout voice on the operatic stage, led by his fresh comedic instinct and dramatic acting. The past season included his debut at Winter Opera Saint Louis as José Castro (La fanciulla del West), covered Count Monterone (Rigoletto) at Sarasota Opera, returned to Kentucky Opera to perform as Dancaïre (Carmen) and Antonio (Le nozze di Figaro) while covering Escamillo and Count Almaviva, and was scheduled to cover Prince Yeletsky (Pique Dame) during his return to Des Moines Metro Opera. Past seasons include performances with Opéra Louisiane, Indianapolis Opera, Charlottesville Opera, and Muddy River Opera Company. Concert performances include the baritone soloist in Fauré’s Requiem, Brahms’ Requiem, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Monteverdi’s Vespers, and Handel’s Messiah.
