Ahdiayah Horton, 22, is a former violinist turned violist from Spartanburg, South Carolina. She currently attends Florida State University, where she is a graduate assistant to Dr. Pamela Ryan. She has previously studied with Courtney LeBauer and Sarah Johnson. She performs with the Florida State University Symphony Orchestra and various orchestras in the Florida panhandle. In the spring of 2024, Ahdiayah will graduate with her Master of Music in Viola Performance and begin a Doctorate of Musical Arts in the fall. She has been a participant in Chamber Music on the Hill, where she studied with Kirsten Swanson of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Eastern Music Festival 2021 and 2022, where she studied with Chauncey Patterson of Lynn University, HeeSun Yang of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and Sarah Cote of Belmont University, while also receiving chamber coachings from Daniel Reinker of Vanderbilt University. Ahdiayah has also performed in masterclasses with Ben Sung of Florida State University, the Cavani Quartet, Johnny Gandelsman, Kirsten Swanson of the University of North Carolina Charlotte, Jaime Hofmann of the String Academy of Wisconsin at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Carroll University, Nancy Buck of Arizona State University, Shannon Thomas of Florida State University, Jenny Kozoroz and Philip Ying of the Ying Quartet.
