Biography

Alanna Beilke

Alanna Beilke, soprano, is a proud cheese head, born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. Highlighting her passion for a diverse continuum of music and theatre, Alanna has immersed herself in projects including opera, art song, concert, musical theatre, and even straight theatre. Ms. Beilke is a 2025 Eastman School of Music graduate, she studied with Kathryn Cowdrick and earned a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance.

During the 2024-2025 Eastman Opera Theatre season, Ms. Beilke sang the role of Esther in the collegiate premiere of Silent Light by Paola Prestini and was seen later as La Voce de la Fuente in Ainadamar. Honored as an Eastman concerto competition winner, she made her orchestral debut with the Eastman Philharmonia under the baton of Anthony Parnther as the soprano soloist of the program An Evening of Mahler. Her highlights of the Eastman Opera Theatre 2023-2024 season include Madame Lidoine cover/Soeur Catherine (Dialogues des Carmélites), Primadonna cover (Ariadne auf Naxos prologue) and Chorus (Dido and Aeneas). An enthusiastic explorer of contemporary works, she premiered and recorded the cycle An Evening of Shakespeare by Payton Brown with the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra.

During the 2025 summer, Ms. Beilke attended the Toronto Summer Music Festival as an Emerging Artist Fellow, where she performed song selections including those of Strauss, Grieg, Messiaen, Santoliquido, and more. Over the past two summers, Ms. Beilke attended Taos Opera Institute in New Mexico and Si Parla, Si Canta in Arona, Italy (respectively). At these programs, she sang scenes and excerpts as Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Pauline Viardot (Notes on Viardot), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Carolina (Matrimonio Segreto), and Paride (Paride ed Elena). 

Ms. Beilke has been honored with numerous performance awards. She won the Second Place Annabel Muenter Vocal Prize in the 24th annual Friends of Eastman Opera Competition, adjudicated by internationally acclaimed bass-baritone Christian Van Horn. She was awarded first place at the New York Finger Lakes chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing vocal competition in 2023 and was awarded second place in 2021. She won second place at the National Glenn Miller Birthplace Society Music Competition in 2022 and was the first-place voice category winner in the senior open division of the Midwest Young Artist Conservatory Walgreens National Concerto Competition in 2019 and 2020. 

In the realm of musical theatre and straight theatre, role highlights include Emily Webb (Our Town), Cinderella (Cinderella), Winifred (Once Upon a Mattress), and Judy (u.s)/Missy(9 to 5).
