Alejandro Cuellar is a Bass based in San Antonio, Texas. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Music Education with a Distinction in Vocal Performance from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2023. During his time at UTSA, he performed notable roles such as Sarastro in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and the Commendatore in Don Giovanni.
Since graduating, Alejandro has participated in prestigious Young Artist Programs, including OPERA San Antonio/Classical Music Institute in both 2023 and 2024, as well as OperaWorks in Atlanta in 2024. He currently sings as a Bass chorus member with OPERA San Antonio and Austin Opera, where he has sung in productions such as Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Verdi’s Requiem, and Puts’ The Manchurian Candidate.
He recently made his international debut in July 2025 with Clyde Opera in Glasgow, Scotland, where he performed the role of Captain Zuniga in Bizet’s Carmen. In October 2025, he made his Main Stage debut with Opera West! (Santa Fe, New Mexico) in Gianni Schicci as Pinellino.
In 2024, he also appeared as the bass soloist in oratorio performances of Handel's Messiah and as Raphael in Haydn's The Creation.
Alejandro remains an active presence in the Central Texas music community, performing regularly with professional church choirs and dedicating his time to teaching private voice lessons and choirs.
