This season Alexa returned to Ravinia to reprise the festival’s production of Bernstein’s MASS with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Marin Alsop. The production was recorded for a 2020 national broadcast on PBS. Additional recent highlights include singing the roles of Mimì (La bohème) with Vashon Opera, Rose in Jake Heggie’s monodrama At the Statue of Venus at New York Symphony Space, Liù (Turandot) with Pacific Northwest Opera, and an American Opera Projects commission of four new operas at NYC’s Brooklyn Museum. A Seattle native, Alexa has been a frequent soloist with Seattle Symphony in their Masterworks and Pops series, in addition to performing the title role in Our Earth, a collaboration with Seattle Opera. Additionally on the concert stage, Alexa made her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2017 singing Chausson’s Chanson perpetuelle. At Merkin Hall, Alexa performed with the Beijing International Arts Festival singing excerpts from She Loves Me, The Wizard of Oz and My Fair Lady. Alexa can be heard on several video-game/movie soundtracks including The Hobbit, Diablo, Halo and The Industrial Musicals Movie and Grammy-nominated children’s musical fable The Shoe Bird. Alexa has received accolades in the Franco Viñas Opera Competition in Barcelona, the Metropolitan Opera Competition, the International Gerda Lissner Competition, Opera Index, Giulio Gari Foundation, Julian Autrey Song Foundation and Palm Springs Opera Competition. Alexa trained in Chicago at DePaul School of Music and New York City’s Mannes at The New School.
