Soprano Alexandra Lee Johnson is a regular at the Tulsa Opera as a fourth-year Filstrup Resident Artist. She debuted on the Tulsa Opera mainstage as Lucinda in Into the Woods, covered the role of Jennifer in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and a featured soloist in the Grand Voices concert in 2024, and has been a part of the Raise Your Voice Tour for several years. In 2019, she premiered the role of Sandra in the world premiere of Roger Zahab’s opera Hegemony with Music on the Edge. She has performed the roles of Vixen (The Cunning Little Vixen), Morgana (Alcina) and Rose Maurrant (Street Scene) with UNT Opera as well as performing in masterclasses with visiting contemporary opera and art song composers Julianna Hall, Tom Cipullo, and Robert Beaser. Other roles performed include Nella (Gianni Schicchi), Popelka (Martinů’s The Comedy on the Bridge), Edith (The Pirates of Penzance), and Cosette (Les Misèrables). She received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Oklahoma in 2017 and her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas in 2020. She also currently serves as the Artistic Director of Cimarron Opera and the Marketing and Development Manager at Tulsa Opera.
