Biography

Allyson Bennett

Allyson Bennett is an American soprano studying under Jane Eaglen at New England Conservatory of Music pursuing an G.D. in Vocal Performance.  She is a Boston-based classical vocalist with a passion for operatic and song repertoire and is currently preparing to cover the title role Puccini’s Tosca with Opera51. She was most recently featured at NEC in the roles of First Lady in The Magic Flute, a Liederabend exploring selections from Rachmaninoff’s Six Romances op.8, a scene as Nedda in Pagliacci, and a scene of Donna Anna in Don Giovanni. Additional operatic role experience includes Eva (An American Dream), Madame Lidoine (Dialogues of the Carmelites), Mimì (La Bohème), and Valletto (L’incoronazione di Poppea). As a concert recitalist she premiered Flora Sun’s “難波津に (Naniwa-zu ni)”, appeared with NEC’s Wind Ensemble singing Dvořák’s “Song to the Moon” and Elena Firsova's The Birth of a Smile with trombone quartet and vibraphone, and hosted a benefit recital with Sparrow Live for the family of Breonna Taylor. Allyson won First Place for Rising Talents of the Americas 2020 with the Great Composers Competition, named VSA International Young Musicians Program Award winner with the Kennedy Center, and named Boston District Winner by The Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition in both 2021 and 2022.
