Biography

Amy Humberd

A captivating clarinetist, Amy Humberd has appeared throughout the United States and Europe as a soloist and chamber musician. In November of 2017, she presented her Carnegie Hall debut as the second prize winner of the Concert Artists International Virtuoso Competition, and she has performed various concertos with student and professional orchestras throughout the United States. She is a founding member of the Civitasolis Reed Quintet, a group dedicated to innovative and interactive concert performances. Recently Civitasolis was selected as semi-finalists in the Coltman chamber music competition, and they presented their Carnegie Hall debut recital in May 2019. With this group, she and the other members created an annual composition competition to promote the creation of new music for the reed quintet genre on top of other commissioning projects. A substitute clarinetist with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra and the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, she has also performed with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, the Tallahassee Ballet, the Tallahassee Community Chorus, and the Ocala Symphony Orchestra. She has been selected to present at several national and international conferences, including the American Single Reed Summit, the NASA Region 6 Conference, and the International Clarinet Association. Outside of the performance hall, she is an accomplished teacher. Most recently she was appointed to the clarinet faculty at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Furthermore, she has given regular masterclasses at institutions throughout Florida and Tennessee.
