Emerging soprano and voice teacher, Anna Donnelly, is based in Chicago, Illinois where she sings with Chicago Lyric Opera Chorus, Chicago Symphony Chorus, and other local companies.
Anna Donnelly is a professional singer and teaching artist based in Chicago. She performs regularly with leading ensembles including the Lyric Opera of Chicago Chorus, Chicago Symphony Orchestra Chorus, and Chicago Opera Theater. As a young Artist, Anna performed with Finger Lakes Opera during the Summer of 2023. With FLO, she performed as The Voice of the High Priestess in Aida and Sarah in the world premier workshop performance of Brittany Boykin and Jarrod Lee’s Two Corners.
Her professional credits also include performances with Lyric Opera of the North, Finger Lakes Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Miami Music Festival, and Bloomington Chamber Opera. Additional notable roles include Pamina in Die Zauberflöte and Gianetta in L’elisir d’amore.
Anna earned a Master of Music in Voice Performance and a Graduate Certificate in Vocology from Indiana University. During her time at IU, she performed several operatic roles, including Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, Drusilla in L’incoronazione di Poppea, and Soeur Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites, as well as participating in numerous opera choruses.
Anna was the recipient of an Encouragement Award in the 2023 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition (St. Louis District) and won first prize in the undergraduate voice division of the 2019 Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Scholarship Competition.
In 2023, Anna launched her private teaching studio in Chicago and joined the faculty at Harold Washington College, where she teaches applied voice.
