Biography

Anna Therese George

Anna Therese George is a twenty one year old mezzo-soprano hailing from Green Bay, Wisconsin. Anna is currently pursuing her Bachelors of Music in Classical Vocal Performance at the Chicago College of Performing Arts in Chicago, Illinois, where she studies under Professor Elizabeth Byrne. She also intends on getting her masters degree, starting Fall 2026.

In high school, Anna has studied voice and vocal performance with Dr. Courtney Sherman at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay, as well as singing chorally for seven years, performing in show choirs for nine years, and performing as a cast member in musicals for four, not including another year as a pit orchestra member on guitar. She also regularly sang the National Anthem for the Green Bay local baseball team, the Green Bay Rockers. She also performed a selection of solo repertoire for the YWCA Women of Vision event in May 2022.

As well, she participated in Green Bay Southwest High School’s choirs for four years under the direction of Mr. Brandon Rockstroh, and conducted three songs for the SWHS Choral program, including the National Anthem for the world-champion Milwaukee Bucks, and Southwest High School's senior song, "And Wherever You Go." She was also nominated her senior year for the local Bush Music Competition scholarship.

Anna's first professional production outside of school was The Book of Empty Pages with the Birder Players in De Pere, Wisconsin, in June-July 2023. Afterwards, Anna began her opera debut as False Boy in Kurt Weill's The Tsar has His Photograph Taken in the CCPA Undergraduate Opera, and the following summer, as Dritter Knabe in Die Zauberflöte with the Berlin Opera Academy this past July and August, 2024. She continued on through her junior year of university with her first two principal roles, Ma Moss in Copland's The Tender Land, and Cherubino in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro. In August 2025, she will be performing with Chicago Summer Opera as Ruggiero in Handel's Alcina. In November, she will be performing as Le Prince Charmant in Viardot's salon operetta, Cendrillon.
