In the 2025/26 season, Ms. Maubach joins the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble. She will cover Stéphano in Roméo et Juliette, Amore in Orfeo ed Euridice, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, and she will perform Berta the same production.
Canadian mezzo-soprano Ariana Maubach has been praised by Parterre Box for possessing “a plush, dark timbre voice of exceptional richness” (Anna Bolena, Academy of Vocal Arts). She was recently named First Prize Winner and Audience Choice at the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Competition. Ariana was also a 2025 National Semifinalist in the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition.
In the 2025/26 season, Ms. Maubach joins the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble in her hometown of Toronto. She will cover Stéphano in Roméo et Juliette, Amore in Orfeo ed Euridice, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, and she will perform Berta the same production.
Ms. Maubach recently portrayed Hazel Ying Lee in the world premiere of Fearless at Opera Delaware. She then appeared as Ragonde and covered Isolier in Le Comte Ory at the Merola Opera Program in San Francisco.
Previously, she was a Resident Artist at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. In the 2024/25 season, she performed Dorabella in Così fan tutte. Her first year at AVA included roles such as Smeton in Anna Bolena, Bianca in The Rape of Lucretia, and Berta in Il barbiere di Siviglia.
Ms. Maubach made her professional debut in the 2023/24 season as Linette in Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges at Des Moines Metro Opera, as part of their Apprentice Artist Program. Other highlights include performing Madamein a workshop of Bulrusher with Cincinnati Opera, appearing in La bohème with the Spoleto Festival, and singing in Eugene Onegin at Music Academy of the West, where she was a Vocal Fellow.
She holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice with Distinction from the Eastman School of Music and a Master of Music from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati.
