Soprano and director, Brady Collins is committed to broadening the repertoire and audiences of vocal art music and regularly engages in projects that bridge performance, musicology, and outreach.

Brady has recently performed the role of Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni with Vienna Summer Music Festival under the baton of Gregory Buchalter. While at the festival, she also appeared as the Bird Peddler in the premiere of Paul Richard’s Mondo Novo. Other performance credits include Edith in Pirates of Penzance (Pittsburgh Savoyards), Cinderella in Pauline Viardot’s Cinderella (Roosevelt University), Lady in Waiting 1 in the staged premiere of Paul Richard’s The Loathly Lady (Vienna Summer Music Festival), and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte (Manhattan Opera Studio), and Anna I in Kurt Weill's Die Sieben Tödsunden.  She has covered Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel (Vienna Summer Music Festival) and Susanna in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro (Manhattan Opera Studio). Chamber music credits include George Crumb’s Night Music I (Summer Institute for Contemporary Performance Practice at New England Conservatory), John Harbison’s Mirabai Songs with a full chamber orchestra (Duquesne University), Schubert’s Dir Hirt auf dem Felsen, (Duquesne University), and Lori Laitman’s I Never Saw Another Butterfly (Roosevelt University). In 2017, she was engaged with Manhattan Opera Studio. While there, she performed for an aria and scenes concert in Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall.

As a director, Brady has received praise for her pacing, "special touches, and flourishes" on Gilbert and Sullivan's The Sorcerer with the Pittsburgh Savoyards in 2022. Currently, Brady is serving as the Spring Production Director for Pittsburgh Urban Christian School, where she is also the K-8 general music teacher. Brady was on staff as a director for Opera Festival of Chicago’s inaugural season in 2021. She directed Dante 700, a unique program of selected operatic works inspired by the life and writings of Dante Alighieri. Brady was an associate director for the festival’s production of Il Segreto di Susanna and Il Tabarro under Ella Marchment and Marc Verzatt.  She was also Ella Marchment’s associate director at Opera in the Rock for their 2021 production of Scalia and Ginsburg.  While earning her Master’s in Vocal Performance at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts, Brady directed a staged adaptation of Lori Laitman’s I Never Saw Another Butterfly for the undergraduate class. This summer, Brady will be a resident stage director at Opera North.

Brady was a 2020 fellow for Roosevelt University’s Office of Student Research, where she crafted and staged an immersive performance of Weimar era Kabarett, entitled The Wild Stage. While the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she reprised that program at the Davenport Cabaret and Piano Bar in February of 2022 to a sold-out audience. Brady performs The Wild Stage regularly and the show is available for national bookings. Brady has a Master’s of Music in Vocal Performance from Roosevelt University, studying with Mark Crayton, and a Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance from Duquesne University, studying with Sari Gruber.
