Biography

Brandon Marcus

Brandon Marcus, baritenor, has known since a very young age that it was his calling to help others grow. His willingness to stay after long days of school and help others excel in music built the foundation that he uses to help students succeed today.

As the owner and a voice teacher at The Studio, he specializes in Musical Theatre and teaches a full studio of private lessons to some Mobile Bay’s most talented high school and middle school students. He is a graduate of both Spring Hill College, where he received his MLA in Leadership & Ethics, and the University of South Alabama, where he completed his B.A. (Music, Education, Theatre, Communication).

When not staying busy with The Studio, Brandon continues to find time to give back to the performing arts community of Mobile and Baldwin Counties. Brandon has been cast in lead roles on stages across the Gulf Coast, appearing as Judas in Theatre 98’s Godspell (2019), Pilot in ESRT's The Little Mermaid (2017), Mereb in Joe Jefferson Player's Aida (2015), Lucas Beineke in The Walter Anderson Player's The Addam's Family (2014), Emmett Forrest in Joe Jefferson Player's Legally Blonde (2013), Joe in Mobile Theatre Guild’s 9 to 5 (2012), Albert J. Peterson in Chickasaw Civic Theatre’s Bye, Bye Birdie (2011), and as The Cat In The Hat in TheatreUSA’s Seussical the Musical (2009). Over the past year, Brandon has been awarded the Emerging Leader Award by the Mortar Board National Honor Society, named a National Association of Teachers of Singing Joan Frey Boytim Fellow, included in the 2022 Who's Who In Americalist, highlighted in the SOUTH Alumni magazine, and was featured in both the Mobile Bay Magazine 40 Under 40 and ACCESS Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful. He has also been named in the finals for the Best Actor and/or Best Theatrical Singer categories of the Lagniappe Nappie awards consistently for the past decade, winning the top honor five different years. While Brandon is honored to have received these accolades, he is even more honored to watch his students perform and win awards at the local, area, state, regional, and national level. With his students consistently receiving the highest marks, Brandon takes pride in seeing his students continually excel and place in the upper percentile.
