Biography

Calandra Damouras

A Massachusetts native, Calandra Damouras earned her Master of Music degree from The New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA where she studied with Ms. Jane Eaglen. Calandra also holds a Bachelor of Music degree from The Crane School of Music where she was in the studio of Dr. Colleen Skull. In her time with the award-winning Crane Opera Ensemble, Calandra performed roles such as Edith (The Pirates of Penzance), debuted the role of Valeria in Tom Cipullo’s world premiere of his opera, MAYO, and sang the role of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro. While at NEC, Calandra sang First Lady in Die Zauberflöte under the baton of Maestro Robert Tweten and participated in their scenes program: La Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutté), and Mimí (La Boheme). After graduating with her masters in 2023, Calandra sang with The Janiec Opera Company at The Brevard Music Center under the direction of Mr. Dean Anthony. She covered the role of Governess in The Turn of The Screw and sang the role of Jack’s Mother in Sondheim’s Into The Woods as well as singing in the ensemble of La Traviata. The following summer she sang with The Boston Wagner Institute where she performed various Wagner scenes including Die Walküre (Sieglinde), Wellgunde (Das Rheingold), and covered Elisabeth (Tannhäuser). Most recently, Calandra performed in a concert with Opera Saratoga celebrating local singers in the Capital District of NY where she now resides.
