Cameron Kidd
(She/Her) Chicago soprano Cameron Kidd is an emerging artist with a passion for theatrical storytelling. Her previous roles from the standard operatic repertoire include the titular role in Massenet’s Cendrillon, and Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte. A dedicated ensemble singer, Cameron has also toured internationally as a soloist and chorister with the Illinois Wesleyan University Collegiate & Alumni Choir throughout Slovakia, Poland, the Czech Republic.

Biography

Cameron Kidd

Chicago soprano Cameron Kidd is an emerging artist with a passion for musical storytelling. Her previous roles from the standard operatic repertoire include the titular role in Massenet’s Cendrillon, and Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute. Her experiences in musical theatre include the roles of Mother in Ragtime, and Cinderella in Into The Woods.

Cameron has had the great privilege of touring nationally, and internationally with the Illinois Wesleyan University Collegiate Choir. She performed with this ensemble in the 2019 Universitas Cantat Choral Festival in Poznan, Poland, and during this time, was selected to perform as a member of Andrea Boccelli’s chorus for his concert at the Inea Stadium in Poznan. Cameron also had the privilege of touring throughout South Africa with the IWU Collegiate Choir as a soloist at the beginning of 2020, for which they were invited to perform at the Toyota US Wordfees Music Festival in Stellenbosch.

Her recent involvement in voice competitions has resulted in Cameron receiving 1st place in the BIPOC Composer Category of the 2024 Chicago NATS Voice Competition, and 2nd place in the Advanced Treble Classical Singers Category. Cameron was also the 2022 winner of the Illinois Wesleyan University Concerto/Aria competition, resulting in a collaboration with the IWU Symphony Orchestra as the soprano soloist for a performance of “Es lebt eine Vilja” from Lèhar’s Die Lustige Witwe.
