Caroline Goodwin is an emerging artist who has shown herself to be a versatile musician and performer. While engaging in classical training, she has also developed her passion for contemporary music, musical theatre, jazz, and popular music. She holds a Master of Music in Voice (2023) and a Bachelor of Science in Voice with an Outside Field in History (2021) from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

Caroline Goodwin’s soprano voice has been described as “filament fine but powerful” and full of “rising star sparkle.” As an emerging young artist, Caroline has shown herself to be a versatile musician and performer. While engaging in classical training, she has also developed her passions for musical theatre, new music, and jazz. She holds both a Master of Music in Voice (2023) and a Bachelor of Science in Voice with an Outside Field in History (2021) from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana. During the summer of 2022, she attended the world-renowned American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria.
Most recently, Caroline appeared on the proscenium stage as Mrs. Anderssen, one of the Liebeslieders, in A Little Night Music with the College Light Opera Company. Earlier this year, she sang Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance with First Coast Opera. In 2023, she participated in nine productions during the College Light Opera Company’s season. Her most notable roles included Elise in The Yeomen of the Guard, Valencienne in The Merry Widow, and The Plaintiff in Trial by Jury. Other favorite roles (with various companies) include Paquette in Candide, Gabriella in La Rondine, Maud Dunlop in The Music Man, Zelda Zanders in Singin’ in the Rain, Lou Ann in Hairspray, Marie in scenes from The Bartered Bride, and Cherubino in scenes from Le nozze di Figaro. Her ensemble experiences include H.M.S. Pinafore, Jesus Christ Super Star, Singin’ in the Rain, 9 to 5, The Little Mermaid, Hello Dolly, Ainadamar, L’Étoile, Falstaff, Xerxes, and Bernstein’s Mass. During her undergraduate degree, Caroline sang roles in four children’s operas with the outreach organization Reimagining Opera for Kids (ROK): Ami in Dominick DiOrio’s The World is One, Ana in Gabriela Ortiz’s Ana y su Sombra, Unicorn in Lauren Bernofsky’s Mooch the Magnificent, and Rosie in The Lunchbox Project (a work which included a team of composers).
Caroline's growing experience in concert work includes multiple engagements with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, performances especially important to her because of her hometown audience. She has programmed, performed, and appeared as a guest on multiple recitals in Terre Haute, Bloomington, and Indianapolis, Indiana, as well as in Graz, Austria. These performances encompass opera, operetta, art song, jazz, and Broadway repertoires.
In addition to dramatic performances, Caroline is also involved in the new music world. In April of 2021, she premiered A Few Figs from Thistles, a song cycle based on the poems of Edna St. Vincent Millay which she commissioned her friend and colleague Alex Tedrow to write. A new recording of this work featuring Caroline was released on streaming platforms in March of 2023.
