Biography

Caroline Olava Halvorsen

Caroline Olava grew up in Edvard Griegs hometown, Bergen in Norway. She early showed a big interest for music and started at eurythmics music course when she was only three years old. When she was five she started playing the cello. Playing both solo and in an orchestra until the age of twelve years old. The love for singing gradually took over. She then joined Bergen Domkirkes youth choir. In 2015 she started taking singing lessons at the culture school in Bergen with teacher Anne Fiskeseth Larsen and joined the school's talent programme for classical music where she graduated summer 2019. In 2019 she continued with a year at Toneheim in Hamar, Norway. There she started her studying with vocal teacher Matthew Marriott, whom she has continued taking lessons with ever since. He further introduced her to the world famous soprano Elizabeth Norberg-Schulz, whom she also has worked a lot with and also has played an important role in Olava´s vocal development. The following year Olava came among other schools, into Barratt Due Institute of Music. Autumn 2020 she started her education for a bachelors degree at Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo with teacher Torgun Birkeland. Where she is now in her second year.
