On September, 27th, Houston will be singing Masetto in a concert performance of Don Giovanni with the University Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Bernard McDonald. Ryan Speedo Green will be singing Don Giovanni, Derek Hale as Leporello, Caitlin Ecuyer as Donna Anna, Dawson Franzino as Donna Elvira, Anna Low as Zerlina, and Adam Henning as Don Ottavio.
I will be performing as Leoporello in the Act II Sextet of Mozart's Don Giovanni and covering the Act I Quintet of Mozart's Die Zauberflöte as Papageno. The gala will be performed by members of Penn State Opera Theatre and the Penn State Philharmonic Orchestra. Baritone Carter Houston has recently completed his Bachelor of Music Degree at Penn State. He is currently attending Florida State University to pusue a Master of Music Degree in Voice Performance. He will be performing in FSU's Outreach Opera in the spring and he has recently sung Bartolo in Il Barbiere di Siviglia this fall.
Highlights include singing Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, singing Schubert's Die schöne Müllerin, and performing in operatic scenes programs. Carter also recently performed as the Jailer, Officer, Second Commissioner, and Marquis de la Force in Penn State's production of Dialogues of the Carmelites.
