Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, soprano Cassie Warthen started her career at Georgia Southern University, where she studied with Dr. Allen Henderson and Dr. Arikka Gregory. In her time at GSU, she was seen in the roles of Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Anna Maurrant (Street Scene), and Marilyn in the U.S. premiere of Stephen Chatman’s comic opera, Choir Practice, among others. Ms. Warthen graduated from Georgia Southern University magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Music May 2019.
Ms. Warthen has performed with Chicago Summer Opera as Gertrud in Hansel und Gretel, Harrower Opera Program as Emily in The Ballad of Baby Doe, and the Druid City Opera Workshop as Agnes Lee in scenes from Phillip Glass’ Appomattox.
Ms. Warthen recently graduated with her Master of Music in voice performance from the University of Memphis, where she was a student of Mary Wilson. In her time at the University of Memphis, Ms. Warthen was able to study the roles of the Countess from Le nozze di Figaro, Mimì from La Bohème, and Donna Elvira from Don Giovanni.
Recently, Ms. Warthen has performed with Moon River Opera as a Company Artist featured in several performances, including their recent production of Menotti’s The Telephone as Lucy. Ms. Warthen was featured in Utah Vocal Art’s Academy’s 2023 production of Cosi fan tutte as Fiordiligi. Ms.Warthen also spent the summer of 2022 performing in Italy with the Accademia Vocale Lorenzo Malfatti.
The 2025 season has featured Ms. Warthen in several concerts throughout the Savannah, GA area and will see her in Moon River Opera’s production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance as Frederic.
