Cheryl Kim is a South Korean pianist, vocalist, violinist, and an aspiring choral music director who graduated from Indiana University (IU) in 2019 with a High Distinction. She is licensed to teach K-12 in Indiana, specializing in Choral-General Music. At IU Jacobs School of Music, she received the Premier Young Artist Award, Music Faculty Award, and L&S Chu Piano scholarships. She was the runner-up nominee for Interscholastic Association of Southeast Asia Schools (IASAS) as a pianist in both 2014 and 2015, and she has performed and accompanied in numerous music conventions, choral concerts, and church services since then. Other than playing the piano, Cheryl has been serving the Sarang Church Hallelujah Orchestra since 2012 as a violinist and score manager. She also recently conducted a choir in Sarang Church for a special early morning service, making her the youngest conductor to be on the church’s podium. At IU, she studied piano with Prof. Evelyne Brancart, and Dr. Gregory Martin, and was an active member of University Chorale and Singing Hoosiers. She is currently continuing her Master's studies at CCM in Choral Conducting, under the tutelage of Dr. Joe Miller and Dr. Brett Scott.
