Claire Pegram
Los Angeles-based soprano Claire Pegram is a rising talent on opera and concert stages. She recently made her LA Opera solo debut in 2024 as the First Handmaiden in Turandot and continues performing with the LA Opera Chorus in the 2025–26 season. Recent highlights include appearances with Pacific Opera ProjectMission Opera, and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. A 2022 NATS-LA Young Artist of the Year, Pegram holds degrees from the University of Michigan and the A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute.

Biography

Claire Pegram

Los Angeles-based singer Claire Pegram sings regularly with the Los Angeles Opera Chorus and recently made her Los Angeles Opera solo debut for the company's May/June 2024 production of Turandot, singing the role of First Handmaiden. Upcoming engagements find Pegram joining the LA Opera Chorus for their 2024-2025 season in Romeo and Juliet and Ainadamar and again for Falstaff in 2026. 

Ms. Pegram is recognized as a rising talent on opera and concert stages, alike. In July 2024, Pegram made her Pacific Opera Project (POP) debut as the Foreign Princess in Rusalka and also made her Mission Opera debut in October 2023 as Manon Roland in the West Coast Premiere of Girondines, a new work in English. Prior opera engagements have included lead roles with the AJ Fletcher Opera Institute (North Carolina), Opera MODO (Detroit), Opera in the Ozarks (Arkansas), and the Franco-American Vocal Academy (Austria). Ms. Pegram also routinely sings with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and the Los Angeles Philharmonic for performances at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl under the batons of Gustavo Dudamel, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Zubin Mehta, and Grant Gershon.

 Locally, Pegram is a rostered member of the Opera Buffs INC. and is also associated with the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Los Angeles chapter (NATS-LA), named their "Young Artist of the Year" in 2022. Pegram solos regularly with the Sierra Linda Master Chorale, First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, and the Vallejo Drive Church in Glendale, CA. 

Claire Pegram received a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute in North Carolina in 2019. She received a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performancefrom the University of Michigan in 2016.
