Cole George 20, from Melbourne, Florida is a junior at the Eastman School of Music studying
bassoon performance with George Sakakeeny. He is a substitute bassoonist for Symphoria Orchestra of
Central NY and the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra of FL. He has attended master classes with several
professional bassoonist including Glenn Einschlag, Monica Ellis, Richard Svoboda, & Fei Xie.
Throughout high school Cole consistently performed in the Florida FMEA All-State Concerts
where he was principal player for two of the years and Brevard All-County Concerts where he was
principal player all 4 years. Additionally, he was principal chair for his high school symphonic orchestra
and wind ensemble and for the Space Coast Symphony Youth Orchestra. Cole was the winner of the
Space Coast Symphony Youth Orchestra Concerto competition in 2018 and 2019. He also was a finalist
for the Brevard’s Got Music Talent Competition in 2019 and 2020. In his summers, Cole attended
Eastern Music Festival in 2022, and Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI) in 2019 and 2020.
Cole aspires to be a member of a professional orchestra and to teach bassoon as a college
professor.
